Logan Agri-Service, Inc., headquartered in Griggsville, IL, is an independently owned and operated supplier of agricultural crop inputs. Company founder James Logan (1925-2013) began the business as a commissioned agent for Standard Oil Company in 1962, serving farms, homes and businesses in northern Pike County, IL with petroleum products. Logan, along with his wife, Betty (1925-2017), operated the business from their home through various growth stages in the mid-1960’s (crop protection chemicals and application) and early 1970’s (fertilizer sales and application). Son and current company president Edward Logan entered the family business full-time in 1978 and provided vision for further expansion.
The company constructed a state-of-the-art retail facility complete with office, warehouse, maintenance shop, and fertilizer storage on IL Route 107 south of Griggsville in 1988. Today, the Griggsville site houses the company’s Petroleum Distribution Center, retail 24/7 fuel dispensers, nearly 40,000 sq/ft contained chemical storage, 2500-ton dry fertilizer storage, 60,000-gallon anhydrous ammonia plant, 120,000-gallon bulk herbicide tank farm, corn and soybean seed treatment systems, and more. Two satellite anhydrous ammonia plants strategically located near Perry, IL and Winchester, IL enable the company to provide service to customers throughout west central Illinois. Additionally, Logan Ag owns or operates retail facilities in Winchester, IL, Paris, MO, Knox City, MO, and Pitsburg, OH (crop protection only).
Working with sales associates in Illinois, Missouri, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota, Logan Agri-Service provides crop protection chemicals and fertilizer to producers throughout the Midwest.The company successfully launched Logan Agri-Yield Premium Foliar in 2017. Premium Foliar, a blend of 7 nutrients designed to aid plant development and reduce crop stress, provided impactful plant response along with great return on investment to growers. The acceptance of Premium Foliar by growers fostered expansion of the Agri-Yield lineup. With more than 10 nutritional products and, new in 2021, a lineup of spray adjuvants, the Agri-Yield brand is known for quality and performance in the field.
